Hame Castle
  • Built at end of 13th Century
  • Served as a prison and as home
  • Now a historical monument
Olavinlinna Castle
  • Founded in 1475 by Erik Axelsson Tott
  • Consists of a main castle with three towers and a bailey with an encircling wall reinforced by towers. 
  • Served to repel attacks from the east and to guarantee control of the Savo region for the Swedish Crown.
Great Cascade at Petrodvorets
  • Was built to commemorate the victory of the Russians over the Swedes in the Northern War.
  • Completed in the middle of the 18th century by the architect Rastrelli. 
  •  Particularly famous for its fountains in the Upper and Lower Parks
